option, then your version of Excel is older than 2016. You won&#8217;t be able to follow these steps. If you&#8217;re not sure, we have an article on <a href=\"https:\/\/boyneanalytics.com\/what-version-of-microsoft-office\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"9\">how to check your version of Microsoft Office<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The next dialog box lets you browse to a folder and open one file. You can\u2019t specify multiple files.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, when you check the box for \u201cSelect multiple options\u201d, you can select some or all of the worksheets in the file.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/boyneanalytics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/navigator_multiple_sheets.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-22\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The window on the right will give you a preview of a selected worksheet so you can double-check that it has the contents you need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Click on the Load button in the bottom right of the window.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This opens the Queries &amp; Connections pane in your spreadsheet. Now for the next steps in this process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Use_Queries_Connections_To_Append_The_Worksheets\"><\/span>Use Queries &amp; Connections To Append The Worksheets<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You now have a Query for each selected worksheet. These will appear in the right pane of your new Excel workbook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you don\u2019t see the pane in the picture below, it may not be expanded. You should be able to widen the pane by dragging the edge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The next step is to append the results of all the queries into a single new worksheet.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Right-click any of the queries, it doesn\u2019t matter which. As you\u2019ve chosen the worksheets that you want already, you want them all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To work with more than two worksheets, toggle the option to \u201cThree or more tables\u201d. This will show all the worksheets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/boyneanalytics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/append_worksheets.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-24\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>You can hold down the control key to select multiple files in the left window and transfer them all across in one go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you\u2019re finished adding the worksheets, click the OK button. This will open up the Power Query Editor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Warning<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The worksheet that you selected to run the append feature will be in the right window when this dialog box opens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For some reason, Excel lets you pick the same workbook again to bring over from left to right. So be careful you don\u2019t end up with the same sheet twice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Finish_With_Power_Query_Editor\"><\/span>Finish With Power Query Editor<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Power Query Editor opens with the new Query highlighted.
