This method is the simplest when you are checking a specific website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li>Log in to the control panel in the website of your hosting provider<\/li><li>Open the file manager tool<\/li><li>Expand the main folder for the website you are checking<\/li><li>Open or view the \u201cwp-config.php\u201d file in this folder<\/li><li>Find the comment near the top saying \u201cthe name of the database for WordPress\u201d<\/li><li>The next line defines the DB_NAME property i.e. the name of the database.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_To_Find_The_Website_Associated_With_A_WordPress_Database\"><\/span>How To Find The Website Associated With A WordPress Database<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You can also find the website name associated with a specific database.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let\u2019s say you\u2019ve connected via phpMyAdmin to a database named [plan_name]_wp482.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Using the Browse feature<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li>Expand the list of tables in the left pane.<\/li><li>Click on table wp_options<\/li><li>Check the \u201csiteurl\u201d row in the right pane<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>The \u201csiteurl\u201d row shows the full url for the associated website supported by this WordPress database.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will also see rows with data for the blog name and description.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is the options table highlighted in my system:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"579\" height=\"362\" src=\"https:\/\/bandittracker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/wp_options_name_of_website.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-627\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bandittracker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/wp_options_name_of_website.jpg 579w, https:\/\/bandittracker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/wp_options_name_of_website-300x188.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 579px) 100vw, 579px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Using SQL to check the website name<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Alternatively, you can run SQL to find the full URL of the website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Run this statement in the control panel &#8220;query&#8221; tab:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>SELECT * FROM `wpvv_options` WHERE option_name = &#8220;siteurl&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Can_You_Check_The_Database_Name_From_The_WordPress_Admin_Dashboard\"><\/span>Can You Check The Database Name From The WordPress Admin Dashboard?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Unfortunately, you can\u2019t find the database name via your WordPress admin dashboard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Instead, you need to access a file on the server.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You have two options, one of which I described in the previous section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second option is to use an ftp connection to view or modify files on the server. This is a little more technical to set up so I won\u2019t describe it here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Does_The_WordPress_System_Name_Give_A_Clue_To_the_Database_Name\"><\/span>Does The WordPress System Name Give A Clue To the Database Name?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In my earlier example, the database system names were differentiated by a number.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You may be wondering if you can guess the website from these system names. I thought I might be able to tell from the order of numbers in the system names.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But in my case, the lowest number was assigned to the fourth website of five that I\u2019d set up on the hosting plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, my conclusion is that you can\u2019t make any leap from those cryptic numbers to a specific website.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>If you have several WordPress websites with your hosting provider, the control panel doesn\u2019t make it obvious which database belongs to which website.
