Unfortunately, when I ran through the process this week, LinkedIn hasn\u2019t fixed some glitches in their interface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, there is a workaround for every glitch when it seems that you can\u2019t proceed. Do You Want To Get Rid Of A New Page?<\/a><\/li><\/ul><\/nav><\/div>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Who_Can_Create_A_Company_Page_On_LinkedIn\"><\/span>Who Can Create A Company Page On LinkedIn?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have a personal profile on LinkedIn, you should be able to create a company page. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;ve seen other articles mention that you should have some kind of presence e.g. followers or connections, but that shouldn&#8217;t be necessary if you fill in all the details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I created a page from a profile that only had one connection and very little activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_To_Start_Creating_A_LinkedIn_Company_Page\"><\/span>How To Start Creating A LinkedIn Company Page<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>These are the steps required to start creating your page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li>Sign in to your LinkedIn personal profile<\/li><li>Expand the Home menu at the top right of the page<\/li><li>Click the \u201cCreate a Company Page\u201d link at the bottom of the menu items<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"425\" height=\"427\" src=\"https:\/\/bandittracker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/menu_work_create_company_page.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-584\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bandittracker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/menu_work_create_company_page.jpg 425w, https:\/\/bandittracker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/menu_work_create_company_page-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/bandittracker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/menu_work_create_company_page-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 425px) 100vw, 425px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>This launches the page creation wizard-style interface. There are three types of pages you can choose from.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You are most likely going to choose the \u201cCompany\u201d option, rather than an educational institution or a showcase page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"635\" height=\"253\" src=\"https:\/\/bandittracker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/2_choose_company.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-585\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bandittracker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/2_choose_company.jpg 635w, https:\/\/bandittracker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/2_choose_company-300x120.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 635px) 100vw, 635px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The next steps involve filling in company details. You may want to skip some of the information. However, we find that if you fill in everything, the process runs smoother.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are our recommendations\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Our_Recommendations_For_Your_Page_Details\"><\/span>Our Recommendations For Your Page Details<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>These are the details we recommend you provide:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Page name<\/li><li>Amend the LinkedIn URL if necessary<\/li><li>Optional: website URL (if you have a website)<\/li><li>Industry type and company size<\/li><li>Logo (even if you don\u2019t have one, spend two minutes making one! I have tips below.)<\/li><li>Tag line (this can be changed later, but type something in here)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you\u2019ve put in these details, you tick a box at the bottom to verify that you are an authorized representative. This makes you a Super Admin and you can proceed with the next steps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before we move on, here are extra tips.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Name and LinkedIn URL<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The name of your company page also influences your LinkedIn URL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you put spaces into the page name, keep an eye on the URL box. You will see hyphens in the ID that LinkedIn proposes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I find that people forget hyphens. I remove them so that \u201clinkedin.com\/company-page\u201d is \u201clinkedin\/companypage\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Industry type<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>I find that LinkedIn has a limited list of industry types. There\u2019s nothing you can do about that i.e. you can\u2019t enter your own type.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just pick the closest on offer that represents your audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The next step is to upload a simple logo that you created for free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_To_Create_A_Quick_And_Free_Logo_For_Your_Company_Page\"><\/span>How To Create A Quick And Free Logo For Your Company Page<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>What\u2019s that? You don\u2019t want a logo? I still recommend that you upload something for LinkedIn to display.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This avoids having a page that LinkedIn considers to be \u201cincomplete\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All you need to do is quickly make an image sized 300X300 pixels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can do this for free by signing up with Canva.com. Then follow these simple steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol type=\"1\"><li>Click on \u201ccreate design\u201d on the top right of your home page on Canva.com<\/li><li>Choose a custom size of 300 X 300 pixels<\/li><li>Use the left panel to choose a generic photo that is somehow associated with your page.<\/li><li>Expand or crop the image to fit the 300 x 300 canvas<\/li><li>Download the picture and upload it to your LinkedIn company page<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"374\" height=\"278\" src=\"https:\/\/bandittracker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/canva_create_design.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-587\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bandittracker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/canva_create_design.jpg 374w, https:\/\/bandittracker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/canva_create_design-300x223.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 374px) 100vw, 374px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Are you feeling stuck on the choice of image? Let\u2019s say your company is about a sport. Search for \u201cball\u201d and choose the simplest of images.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alternatively, you can use the text editor to write your company name as the logo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Don\u2019t overthink it and you\u2019ll be done within two minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The next steps are to ensure that LinkedIn deems your page as complete. We have tips on how to complete these with the minimum necessary information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Provide_A_Location_For_Your_Company_Page\"><\/span>Provide A Location For Your Company Page<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You may be a digital nomad with the world as your location. I still recommend you provide a city and country in the location details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is no need to provide a physical address or zip code, although that is not immediately clear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To prevent LinkedIn insisting on a street address, tick the box labeled \u201cMy organization doesn\u2019t have a street address.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This then allows you to limit the details to a city and country. By the way, you can change this at a later date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"538\" height=\"443\" src=\"https:\/\/bandittracker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/3_set_location.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-586\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bandittracker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/3_set_location.jpg 538w, https:\/\/bandittracker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/3_set_location-300x247.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 538px) 100vw, 538px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_To_Create_A_Quick_And_Free_Cover_Image\"><\/span>How To Create A Quick And Free Cover Image<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Use the Canva.com service again to create a short and wide cover image that runs along the top of your cover image.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To do so, create a design and choose a custom size of 1128 x 191 pixels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Personally, I grab four or five free photos from the Canva collection and make a photo strip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Glitches with saving the cover image<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>I have found that uploading the cover image once doesn\u2019t always save it to the company page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That will be clear because the browser page still shows the generic cover background.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Simply upload the same image a second time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_To_Add_A_Hash_Tag\"><\/span>How To Add A Hash Tag<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Again, don\u2019t overthink this step.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you start the process of adding a hashtag, LinkedIn gives you a few suggestions based on your page name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Choose the simplest one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_To_Add_A_Custom_Button_To_Your_Company_Page\"><\/span>How To Add A Custom Button To Your Company Page<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have a website, you probably want to add the \u201cvisit website\u201d button with a link to your domain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you don\u2019t have a website, you could switch to the \u201ccontact us\u201d button. All you need to do is to provide the link to your personal profile here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is another section where I find that there were glitches. I couldn\u2019t find a \u201csave\u201d button to create the new button!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you also get stuck at this point, all you need to do is to edit the URL by tacking on a slash at the end. Or edit it to take away the final slash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That should prompt LinkedIn to show you the save button to allow you to save and proceed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Getting_To_A_Completed_Company_Page\"><\/span>Getting To A Completed Company Page<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019ve followed our recommendations, you should now have a completed company page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You should see a message saying something like: \u201cyour page is now built for success\u201d.
