But there is no equivalent list of the people who have blocked you. That is understandable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I think it would be useful if the company gave us a count of how many people have blocked us. That would preserve their privacy while letting us know that we have some kind of problem. But there is no such count that is visible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>People also worry that LinkedIn will send a message if they block someone. Well, they don\u2019t. So if you are blocked, you\u2019re not told that this event has happened. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you want to know more, check out our article on <a href=\"https:\/\/bandittracker.com\/what-happens-when-you-block-someone-on-linkedin-tested\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"279\">what happens when you block someone on LinkedIn<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now that we know that it\u2019s hard to tell when we\u2019re blocked, let\u2019s look at some ways to determine that this has probably happened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Tip_1_Check_Previous_Messages_From_The_Person\"><\/span>Tip 1: Check Previous Messages From The Person<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you suspect that someone has blocked you, then you can make a good guess if they\u2019ve ever sent you a message.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Go and look at the message in your inbox. The content is initially hidden with a message that it may be unwanted or harmful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to uncover the contents, you have to click the \u201cView\u201d link.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">This may also be a deleted account<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s important to know that this doesn\u2019t always mean that the person has blocked you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is also how messages appear when the person has deleted their account on LinkedIn. So, you may want to combine this tip with tip #4 in this article.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Tip_2_Check_Through_Your_List_Of_Connections_For_Absences\"><\/span>Tip 2: Check Through Your List Of Connections For Absences<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The drawback of the previous tip is that you may never have messaged with the person you suspect has blocked you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But our second tip can be used for anyone. It\u2019s based on the fact that when you block someone, LinkedIn removes each of you from the other person\u2019s list of connections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This means that to spot if the person has blocked you, you can scroll through your list of connections. If the member used to be on the list but is now absent, then the member may have blocked you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of course, you have to be sure that you\u2019d seen the member on the list before the possible blocking event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">This may also be a deleted account<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Bear in mind that this also happens if the member has deleted their profile from LinkedIn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Tip_3_Try_Opening_Their_LinkedIn_Profile\"><\/span>Tip 3: Try Opening Their LinkedIn Profile<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>When you block someone, neither of you can open the other\u2019s profile on the platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.linkedin.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">LinkedIn<\/a> will display the message \u201cprofile is unavailable\u201d when you try to navigate to the profile of a member who has blocked you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The problem here is that you may simply be misremembering the spelling of someone\u2019s name, and this is why you can\u2019t \u201cfind\u201d the person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can log out of LinkedIn and use Google to search for the person. This usually provides the URL to the profile. (<em>Although it won\u2019t if they have made themselves completely private<\/em>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My advice is that if you\u2019re about to have a beef with someone on or off the platform, open their profile and copy the URL (it appears in the browser address bar).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can paste the URL into a document or spreadsheet. Think of it as your little black book.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">This may also be a deleted account<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>There\u2019s still one more challenge with this method. You can\u2019t tell whether you\u2019ve been blocked or if the person has removed themselves from the platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This problem is solved if you combine this tip with tip 4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Tip_4_Check_With_A_Different_LinkedIn_Profile\"><\/span>Tip 4: Check With A Different LinkedIn Profile<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019m not sure if it\u2019s explicitly against LinkedIn policies to have multiple accounts, but it\u2019s very easy to set up a second profile. You just need to sign up with a different email address.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now you can check to see if you can open their LinkedIn profile. If you can see the member\u2019s profile, then you know that the other account has been blocked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Tip_5_Try_To_Like_A_Post_Shared_By_The_Person\"><\/span>Tip 5: Try To Like A Post Shared By The Person<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If the person has shared a public post, then you can try to like the post. If you can\u2019t do so, then the person has blocked you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The same effect applies if you try to comment on the post. You will not be able to leave a comment on the post of someone who has blocked you. But attempting to like is easier!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Tip_6_Straight_Up_Ask_The_Person\"><\/span>Tip 6: Straight Up Ask The Person<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s possible that someone blocked you by mistake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you know the person offline or on another platform, you can simply ask them if they blocked you. I understand that this could be a very awkward conversation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I wouldn\u2019t necessarily believe someone feigning shock and saying they\u2019re not sure how that could have happened!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, if the LinkedIn member is your client or friend, then don\u2019t bother with the other efforts of subterfuge.
